Wind Load Analysis
Along with analyzing structures with already known input loads, many times the loads that structures experience must themselves be calculated. For many products wind loading is one of these additional external loads the system will witness. We use the most up to date Civil Engineering codes and research data to calculate the wind loads a system may witness. Using these codes to develop wind loads helps build confidence in the safety of the end product. These documented wind loads also assist in any potential approval process by a Professional Engineer. Our expertise in wind analysis centers on solar tracking systems, specifically flat panel, solar trough, and parabolic dishes. Not only can we develop the wind loads but also these loads can be translated back to reaction loads at any connection points in the system. This is especially useful in developing the input loads to such components as: supporting structure, drive system, cables, bearings, pedestals and ground loads. Although our expertise centers around wind load development for solar tracking systems, this same wind development method can be used for many other systems that do not pertain to solar.
